About Kitchens International

Founded in 1995, Kitchens International is Scotland's leading high quality fitted kitchen supplier.  With 96 staff in six locations across Scotland, Kitchens International's people are passionate about their work, providing a quality service and beautiful kitchens in the heart of people's homes.

Having run annual conferences internally for many years, in 2015 Kitchens International decided they wanted to enhance their conferences.  Previously a morning event consisting of a 12 month review and delivery of the company vision, Kitchens International brought in BlueSky Experiences to help them create an all-day conference with activities to inspire and motivate the team.

2015 was a success and, after receiving positive feedback from staff, Kitchens International approached BlueSky again for their 2016 event.

The BlueSky Brief

To develop an informative, inspiring and rewarding company conference that follows the theme of "contribution", linking the activities throughout the day back to this key theme.

BlueSky's Approach

Based on the previous year's success BlueSky Experiences event managed the morning conference which took place at their stunning venue outside of Perth.  The venue provides ample cabaret style seating for 140 people.  The morning format included presentations from the Directors as well a motivation talk from Jim Leishman.

The afternoon activity was the Big Picture.  This event format promotes different themes such as team work, the driver for results through healthy competition, creativity and finally a collaborative approach where everyone has a part to play.  The format requires teams to take part in competitive team activities to earn BlueSky dollars which are then used to buy arts and crafts.  Each team member is then required to create their piece of a large jigsaw.  The collaborative element of the day is when the room of 96 people all have to place their piece of the jigsaw in the correct place.

The event reinforces the importance of a common approach and that everyone has a part to play in the success of Kitchens International.

In our line of work, there are not many opportunities for our teams to get away for a day and take a step back and look at how we work.
