The company's excellence was recognised in 2008 when they won the coveted "Scottish Thistle Award for Operator Programme of the Year 2007".
JAC Travel Scotland provides their staff with an annual company away day as a reward for their hard work over the year and to help maintain high levels of morale. The company asked BlueSky Experiences to create a fun day with a difference for their team.
BlueSky is renowned for bringing clients from all over the world to take part in our unique Highland Games. This uniqueness is backed up by BlueSky's approach to the games themselves. Some providers claim to offer a Scottish perspective; BlueSky offers clients a complete immersion in all things Scottish! From kilted instructors to competitors wearing the hilarious See-You-Jimmy hats, BlueSky creates a highly charged and fun Scottish Highland Games!
The group was split in to three teams or 'clans' (as they were called on the day) had to compete against each other in a series of traditional Scottish challenges. First they had to try some quick footwork in the Highland dancing ring and then belt out a tune on the bagpipes. The 'clans' tested their skills at Hammer Throwing, Putting the Stane (the original shot put) and the world famous Tossing the Caber. A few alternative Highland games were also on offer, such as Hurling the Haggis (which they of course had to hunt and catch first!).
The game's came to a finale with a mass Tug o'War and Farmer's Dash to separate the men from the wee laddies.
The day was rounded off with drinks and a barbecue at 5pm for everyone, where they could relax in the setting sun and reflect on a great day out.
Rebecca Brooks, Director of JAC Travel Scotland commented:
"James and his team are very passionate about what they do and offer a very professional service. We were looking for a summer party that was fun but with a bit of team building included. The Highland Games format was ideal for our team, it was very different and it mixed up our teams and enabled some people to socialise with one another who wouldn't normally have the chance to do so. The event was great fun and very competitive! We were so impressed with BlueSky's professionalism that we entered a team into the BlueSky Challenge in September. I would have no hesitation recommending BlueSky, in fact I am really keen to do more with them in the future."
