Scotbeef Sign Up for The BlueSky Challenge
04/07/2008Scotbeef, Scotland’s leading red meat manufacturer has joined teams from across Scottish business and signed up for a challenging day of fun and adventure in support of The Prince’s Trust. Run by the award-winning BlueSky Experiences, specialists in team building events, this unique adventure race is designed to be fun as well as challenging for competitors of all abilities.
The charity event takes place within the stunning grounds of Drumlanrig Castle on Friday 12th September 2008 and is open to companies and organisations from across the UK. Competing in mixed sex teams of 4 the race involves Mountain Biking, Kayaking, Orienteering, Aerial Runways, River Crossing and Secret Disciplines – a series of tasks designed to test both mental and physical abilities.
Scotbeef joins a number of organisations already signed up to compete, including teams from Coca Cola, Morse, Strathclyde University, JAC Travel, Royal Bank of Scotland, The Daily Record and TSG with RB Farquhar sponsoring the Tyrolean Runway –always a good opportunity to see who’s got a head for heights and can avoid a dunking!
With no set route round the course, planning and developing a strategy is vital for success rather than relying on sporting ability and fitness. Teams work out in advance their best tactics and route to maximise points and compete non-stop against the clock collecting bonus points at each checkpoint. At the end of the day the team with the most bonus points and the fastest time will win the challenge.
Scotbeef Managing Director, Robbie Galloway commented: “We are entering two teams for The BlueSky Challenge. We see this as an excellent way in which our staff can have fun whilst at the same time help raise money for a great charity such as The Prince’s Trust.”
