The Prince's Trust
Helping to change the lives of young peopleAbout The Prince's Trust
As the UK' leading youth charity, we help young people aged 14-30 overcome barriers and get their lives working. We focus on those who have struggled at school, are in or leaving care, are long-term unemployed or have been in trouble with the law. Through practical support including training, mentoring and financial assistance, we help them raise their potential and transform their lives.
Why raise funds for the Prince's Trust
There are more than 1.2 million young people not in education, employment or training in the UK who read our help. One in five socially-excluded young people have no one to turn to. By helping The Trust, you are helping young people overcome barriers and get their lives back on track.
What are the results?
Since being set up in 1976, we have helped more than 600,000 young people change their lives and help 100 more every working day. Last year alone, The Trust supported more than 40,000 young people. However, to continue this level of support we need to raise more than one million pounds a week.
Lsat year, 88p out of every pound we spent went directly on delivering and developing programmes and services for young people.
- Our approach works: 78% of young people we help go on to get a job, go back into eduction or go into training.
What about this year?
In this current economic downturn we are seeing more young people than ever turn to us for help - calls to our helpline are up 50% and demand for our programmes has doubled. Every penny really does count and will help The Trust to make a real positive difference to the lives of many more young people in the UK
How can I make a difference?
To raise enough money to reach the young people who need our help, we rely on the time, energy and commitment of people such as you. By fundraising for The Prince's Trust you will be having a positive influence on the lifes of young people facing considerable barriers in life.
In addition, you will develop your own personal skills at the same time. By raising money for The Trust you can:
- motivate and inspire others
- foster a team spirit and shared sense of achievement
- encourage active involvement at work or in the community
- face new challenges and achieve your goals.
